Such data are contained in the materials of the National Bank of Moldova on the country's international investment position. At the same time, direct investments in equity capital at the end of 2023 amounted to $3 million 651.39 million (+18.8%, compared to the situation at the end of 2022), while debt instruments amounted to $1 billion 882.47 million (+0.5%). In the geographical distribution of direct equity investments (in the form of participations and accumulated shares), EU investors accounted for $3 billion 152.01 million of investments in late 2023 (+19.7%, compared to end-2022), or 86.3% of the total, CIS investors accounted for $24.19 million (up 2.8 times compared to end-2022), or 0.7% of the total accumulated capital, and other countries accounted for $475.19 million (+10%), or 13% of the total. An analysis of direct investment - equity capital accumulated in late 2023, by sectors, shows that the largest volume of direct investments was in the following sectors: financial activities and insurance - 35.2% of the total volume; wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles - 25.8%; manufacturing industry - 18.6%; information and communication - 5.2%; transportation and storage - 3.8%; electricity, heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning - 2.9%; real estate operations - 2%; construction - 1.4%, agriculture, forestry and fishing - 1.3%. // 04.04.2024 – InfoMarket
