The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization stated this, commenting on the data presented by the National Bureau of Statistics on the growth of gross domestic product in 2023 by 0.7% compared to 2022. As Dumitru Alaiba noted, the main drivers of economic growth in Moldova in 2023 became: Agriculture: +31.9%; HoReCa: +26.1%; Social assistance services: +12.6%; Energy sector: +11.1%; IT and communications: +7.5%. Exports of goods and services increased by 5.1%, driven by a 9% increase in services exports and a 2.7% increase in goods exports. “The main thing we need is new engines of economic growth.
