The share of loans issued by banks of Moldova to resident legal entities, as of the end of December 2023 amounted to 59.6%, up by 0.1 p.p. month-on-month.

According to the National Bank's (NBM) data, in particular, at the end of December 2023, such credits were issued for 38 billion 086.8 million lei (+0.9% as compared to the previous month) out of the total amount of credits of 63 billion 895.5 million lei (+0.8%). At the same time, loans to resident individuals amounted to 25 billion 264.2 million lei (+1%), and their share in the total volume decreased by 0.1 p.p., from 39.6% to 39.5%. Loans to non-resident legal entities at the end of December 2023 amounted to 507 million lei (-2.8% to the previous month), while loans to non-resident individuals amounted to 37.43 million lei (+5.2%). According to NBM data, the largest amounts of credits to resident legal entities at the end of December 2023 were granted by: maib - 15.21 billion lei, Moldindconbank - 6.59 billion lei, OTP Bank - 4.35 billion lei, Victoriabank - 3.39 billion lei, ProCredit Bank - 3.09 billion lei. The largest amounts of credits to non-resident legal entities were granted by: OTP Bank – 181.72 million lei, maib – 176.62 million lei and Victoriabank – 120.77 million lei. The leading positions in granting loans to individuals are held by: maib - 8.52 billion lei, Moldindconbank - 7.4 billion lei, Victoriabank - 3.03 billion lei and OTP Bank - 2.92 billion lei. // 19.02.2024 - InfoMarket.
