Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced this while answering questions from journalists after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. According to him, the largest amount - 2 billion lei - was allocated in 2023. As the prime minister noted, throughout 2023 the authorities conducted a constant dialogue with farmers. Most discussions took place with one of the 30 agricultural industry associations representing a limited number of export-oriented grain producers. Dorin Recean emphasized that in 2023, about 200 million lei were allocated for those affected by the 2022 crisis, that is, 2161 producers received 1240 lei per hectare. In 2023, the excise tax on diesel fuel was reimbursed to 3187 producers for a total amount of 140 million lei. At the request of grain producers, grain imports from Ukraine were stopped in 2023.
