Moldova hopes for easier access of its agricultural producers to the EU markets, including in the dairy and meat sectors – the Agriculture Ministry.

This was said at a meeting that Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Bolea had with European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski during his participation in the Green Week 2024 exhibition in Berlin. The Agriculture Ministry said that the head of the ministry emphasized Moldova's constant commitment to promote the domestic production and to achieve the objectives of competitiveness, noting that the Agriculture and Food Ministry is focused on adjusting the national normative framework to the standards set by the European Union. According to him, over the last 6 months, the Ministry of Agriculture has successfully transposed 41 EU regulations in sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary fields. "This initiative reflects Moldova's constant efforts to comply with the European norms and standards, thus strengthening the country's position on the international market," Vladimir Bolea said. During the discussions, the officials emphasized the importance of implementing European standards to ensure the quality and safety of food products. A special attention was paid to facilitating the Moldovan producers' access to the EU markets, including in the dairy and meat sectors. It was noted that this strategic approach is an important step on the way to consolidate the trade relations between Moldova and the EU. These joint efforts reflect the Moldovan side's willingness to continue close cooperation and to reach new stages in the development of the partnership with the EU. // 22.01.2024 - InfoMarket.
