The government has approved the allocation of 1 million lei to the Material Reserves Agency for the expenses on humanitarian aid in the form of diesel fuel.
The Cabinet adopted a decision to this effect on Wednesday. According to the Interior Ministry, the allocated funds will cover the expenses for the services of a customs broker; services of receiving, assessing the quantity and quality, storing, preserving, unloading, loading and releasing diesel fuel; services of transshipment of diesel tank wagons at the railroad checkpoint across the state border and loading and unloading works on the Moldovan railroad to the destination point; works of unloading diesel fuel from tank wagons and pumping it into the receiving tank. Earlier, the Moldovan Ministry of Agriculture reported that the diesel fuel received from Romania as humanitarian aid will be distributed among 1490 Moldovan agricultural producers through the Material Reserves Agency under the Interior Ministry. The Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) received 1,546 applications for external humanitarian aid in the form of diesel provided by Romania and intended to support farmers affected by the 2022 drought. As emphasized, out of the total number of files, 56 were rejected because they did not meet the eligibility criteria established under the regulatory framework. Thus, 1,490 agricultural producers will receive diesel in the form of humanitarian aid. The average amount of diesel fuel per hectare will be 35.01 kg. The Material Reserves Agency under the Interior Ministry will distribute humanitarian aid to farmers. The Agriculture Ministry noted that the right to humanitarian aid in the form of diesel fuel from Romania belongs to micro and small farms, as well as to state institutions that own and operate arable land up to 1,500 hectares, which were sown with phytotechnical crops for the 2022 harvest and suffered from drought. // 17.01.2024 - InfoMarket.
