
The first transaction with government bonds in its history was concluded on the Stock Exchange of Moldova (BVM).
The completion of the first transaction with government bonds on the platform of the Stock Exchange of Moldova marks an important moment in the development of the domestic financial market, BVM said in a statement. "This first transaction represents an important step in the consolidation of the capital market in Moldova and emphasizes the continuous efforts of financial market participants and regulators to develop and diversify the range of financial products available to investors, while increasing the attractiveness of financial instruments issued by the Moldovan government by creating a secondary market based on free market principles. According to BVM, in particular, a transaction was made with 50 government bonds with a fixed coupon rate (interest) of 8.5%, with a circulation term of 5 years. Periodicity of coupon payment is semi-annual. Nominal value of 1 government bond - 100 lei; purchase and sale price of the government bond on BVM - 103,07 lei; transaction date: November 01, 2023, total value of the transaction: 5153,5 lei. maib acted as an intermediary in the transaction, both from the seller's side and from the buyer's side.
