This follows from the new October review of the International Monetary Fund's World Economic Outlook (WEO). At the same time, the Fund's experts reduced the forecast of Moldova's GDP growth for 2028 from 5.1% to 5%. At the same time, the IMF analysts reduced the inflation forecast for this year, but kept it for 2024 and 2028. According to the IMF experts' forecasts, the average annual inflation in Moldova in 2023 will amount to 13.3%, not 13.8%, as previously expected. In 2024 and 2028, the inflation rate is expected to be 5%. At the same time, inflation at the end of 2023 is projected at 5%, not 8% as previously expected. And for the end of 2024, the forecast for this indicator is maintained at 5%. Moldova's current account deficit is expected to be 12.1% of GDP in 2023, 10.9% in 2024, while in 2028 it is expected to drop to 9.6% of GDP. The previous, April forecast assumed that Moldova's current account deficit in 2023 will be 12.8% of GDP, in 2024 - 11.6%, and in 2028 - 8.3% of GDP. As InfoMarket reported earlier, the World Bank has kept the forecast of Moldova's GDP growth in 2023 at the level of 1.8%. Besides, it left unchanged the forecast of economic growth of our country in 2024 at the level of 4.2%, and in 2025 – 4.1%. According to the World Bank's new Economic Outlook for the region, the inflation rate in Moldova is projected at 14.1% in 2023, 6.2% in 2024 and 4.9% in 2025 – 4.9%. The EBRD has improved its GDP forecast for Moldova for 2023 and forecasts zero economic growth this year instead of the previously expected 1.3% decline. At the same time, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development kept the forecast of economic growth of our country for the next year and expects Moldova's GDP to grow by 3.5% in 2024. As previously reported by InfoMarket agency, Moldova's GDP in 2022 amounted to 272.6 billion lei and decreased in real terms, compared to 2021 by 5.9%.
