Chateau Vartely winery has been awarded the Grand Prix of the National Wine Day-2023.

The event that took place last weekend, honored people and companies that develop and support the wine industry. The main prize was awarded to Chateau Vartely for the high quality of wine production and promotion of Moldova's image at the international level as a wine country. The title "Vinegrower of the Year" and the medal "Nicolai Guzun" was awarded to Vasile Vartic, agronomist and academician, representing the Cricova Winery. The medal "Petru Ungureanu" and the title of the most skillful enologist of the year was awarded to Aliona Nazaria from the Javgurvin Grup. The company Chateau Cojusna for the development of eno-tourism received the medal "Wine of Moldova. A Legend Alive". At the same time, the Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Moldova Janis Mazeiks, the US Ambassador to Moldova Kent D. Logsdon, as well as the Estonian Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture Madis Kallas and the State Secretary of the Romanian Ministry of Agriculture and Regional Development Sorin Moisei were awarded with "Wine of Moldova" commemorative coins by the National Bank. At the same time, within the framework of the National Wine Day, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry awarded the winners of the competition for the best home wine Polobocul de Aur ("Golden Barrel"). This year 457 samples of home wines participated in the contest, 127 of them reached the national stage of the competition. Nine producers of the best home wine were awarded in different categories: wines from technical grape varieties, white wine, red wine and others.
