Andrei Spinu has been appointed as the new Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova, Adrian Efros as the new Interior Minister, and Dan Perciun as the new Minister of Education and Research.
The relevant decrees on their appointment to these positions were signed by Moldovan President Maia Sandu. The new ministers took the constitutional oath in front of the head of state Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The head of state wished the new ministers success in their work and noted that they will have to continue and accelerate the reforms they have begun in the areas they will manage. Maia Sandu noted that Dan Perciun has been familiar with the field of education since 2014, when immediately after graduating from the University of Cambridge, he joined the Ministry of Education as head of the Department of e-Transformation during the time when Maia Sandu was Minister of Education, he has accumulated important experience in public policy, management and institutional improvement, which has been confirmed in Parliament, where Dan Perciun headed the commission on social protection, health and family. "The most important initiatives and reforms in this area were launched with the participation of Dan Perciun. Andrei Spinu took an image blow by trying to solve extremely difficult problems, and he solved them at a time when we saw very high energy prices, and our decisions were also complex.But Andrei Spinu managed to provide the country with energy resources, despite the crisis and Moscow's blackmail. We were not left without gas and electricity and were able to diversify gas supplies for the first time and for the first time move away from 100% dependence on Russia for energy supplies," the President said. She noted that Andrei Spinu was also responsible for regional development, successfully implemented the European Village program, projects for the repair of roads, bridges, and the development of railway infrastructure, and he will continue to do this. "He has participated in peacekeeping missions and knows well what the price of peace is," said Maia Sandu, adding that important processes have been launched in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and that attempts to destabilize the situation in country, maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens. Prime Minister Dorin Recean also expressed his wishes to each of the new ministers, first thanking their predecessors for their good work in a difficult period.
