
Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced the resignations of three ministers.
During a briefing on Friday, the head of government said that Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topala, Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenсo and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Lilia Dabija had submitted their resignations the day before. Recean will present the list of new candidates for vacant positions in the Cabinet of Ministers to Moldovan President Maia Sandu on Monday, July 17. The Prime Minister did not specify the reasons for the resignation of the heads of ministries, but expressed gratitude to them for their work, emphasizing the contribution of each to the work of the Cabinet. In particular, he noted the merits of Anatolie Topala in the implementation from start to finish of a complex and important reform of universities, which is beginning to bear fruit. He also noted the role of Topala in the negotiation process on Moldova's participation in the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe. Speaking of Ana Revenco, the prime minister thanked her for embodying the slogan "Little Moldova, big heart" when she took over leadership in the midst of the refugee crisis and managed difficult crisis situations. Also, according to the prime minister, Revenco laid the foundation for the necessary transformations in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, providing the department with the necessary resources for the development and integration of all departments of the ministry. The prime minister expressed gratitude to Lilia Dabija for the efforts made to complete the rehabilitation of more than 300 km of roads, which are important efforts for citizens and businesses, and also thanked for the effective negotiations on Moldova's participation in the European Cooperation Mechanism. Recall that Anatolie Topala and Ana Revenco were appointed ministers in August 2021 - as part of the government of Natalia Gavrilita and retained their positions in the government of Recean, which was approved in February 2023.
