
Annual inflation (over the last 12 months) continues to decrease in Moldova, reaching 21.98% in March 2023 against 25.91% a month earlier.
The National Bureau of Statistics reported this, noting that in March last year annual inflation in Moldova was 22.16%. At the same time, in March 2023, the average consumer prices for foodstuffs rose by 22.19%, for non-foodstuffs - by 11.93% and for services provided to the population - by 37.67% compared to March of the previous year. As noted by the NBS, as a result of the slower growth of monthly inflation in March of this year (0.81%) compared to the monthly inflation rate in March 2022 (4.06%), the annual inflation rate in March 2023 (21.98%) decreased by 3.93 percentage points, compared to the annual inflation rate recorded in February 2023 (25.91%).
