This was announced by the Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topala at a press conference on the priorities of the ministry for the next period. He said that 13 universities and teacher training colleges are currently undergoing a large-scale process of transformation and modernization. The Ministry allocated 289 million lei for 20 projects to improve the infrastructure, as well as to change the content taught in these institutions. Thus, 13 institutions will be equipped with 52 laboratories and research centers; 67 classrooms, multifunctional halls and other educational facilities will be equipped; 18 educational and consulting centers. It is also planned to introduce new educational programs, including "Information Security", "Data Science"; "Artificial intelligence". The modernization process has also begun in the field of general education, by September 2024, students will receive new textbooks in most school subjects. At the same time, an electronic diary will be introduced in most educational institutions and vocational schools. At the moment, the electronic diary is used in approximately 560 educational institutions. In the near future, about 300 schools will be equipped with modern physical, biological and chemical laboratories. Digital laboratories equipped with the support of UNICEF will be created in 70 educational institutions. With the support of the World Bank, schools will receive more than 5,000 laptops. For schools, IT equipment will be purchased on the basis of a grant ($2 million) from the Global Education Partnership. For teachers, advanced training courses in the field of information technology will be held. In addition, in order to strengthen human resources in the education system, the ministry proposes to increase the period for paying allowances for young professionals from 3 to 5 years.
