Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă announced this at a meeting in Chisinau with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, noting that these funds are intended for the implementation of various projects in strategic areas of development with a concrete impact on citizens. At the same time, the Romanian Prime Minister said that the Romanian government reiterates its unconditional support for Moldova in the European process, as well as for economic consolidation and the maintenance of stability and security in the face of challenges in the region. Maia Sandu thanked Romania for all the assistance which allowed the Moldovan people and economy to survive a difficult winter, caused by an excessive increase in energy and gas prices, as well as a severe shortage of these resources, in particular, due to the limitation of Gazprom's delivery for several months. For his part, Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă thanked the Moldovan parliament for its decision to adapt the legislation in line with the decision of the Constitutional Court, respectively granting Romanian the status of an official language in Moldova. He reiterated Romania's unconditional support for Moldova in the European integration process, as well as for the development of the economy, implementation of reforms and improvement of the well-being of all citizens. The Romanian Prime Minister highlighted the exemplary way in which the Moldovan authorities, with broad international support, have dealt with the security situation and current threats. "Romania will always support Moldova despite the complexity of security issues in the region," Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă said. Maia Sandu presented the steps taken by Moldova to implement the 9 recommendations of the European Commission in order to prepare for the start of negotiations on Moldova's accession to the European Union. The main problems of justice were noted. They spoke about the efforts of the Moldovan government to ensure stability, security and protection of every citizen. Maia Sandu welcomed the special cooperation between Romania and Moldova to overcome the challenges caused by Russia's repeated attempts to destabilize the political and social situation. The Romanian Prime Minister stressed Romania's full commitment to support Moldova, both on its path of European integration into the EU, as well as to strengthen the economic situation and maintain stability and security in the face of the hybrid challenges to which it is exposed. At the same time, they talked about the implementation of an assistance program worth 100 million euros for Moldova, financed by the Romanian government. In this sense, the Romanian Prime Minister announced the disbursement of the first 25 million euros of this program, which has been approved by the Romanian government.
