The Cabinet of Ministers approved the initiation of negotiations and the signing of a grant agreement between Moldova and the European Commission for 25 million euros under the EU for Recovery and Resilience Program.
The funding will be used to promote the sustainable and inclusive economic development of Moldova, as well as to ensure the transition to "green" energy. The main measures under the agreement are: improving the investment climate, commercial opportunities and business environment favorable for SMEs; implementation of the necessary environmental, eco-innovative, energy efficient and resource saving projects, as well as improvement of the air quality and environmental monitoring system. It is noted that, given the unpredictable consequences of the war in Ukraine, the goals of the agreement also became: meeting the urgent needs of the population affected by the war in Ukraine; strengthening resilience and ability to respond to the consequences of war. The goals should be achieved through the implementation of the following projects: "Support for small and medium-sized businesses" (provision of grants - amounts not yet reported); "Trade Facilitation" - 1.2 million euros; “National capacities for monitoring agri-food residues” – 1.5 million euros; "Socio-economic base of the "green" transition" - 3 million euros; "Implementation of environmental pilot projects in the field of energy and eco-innovation" - 7 million euros; Air and Environment Quality (grants, procurement, assessment and audit). The financing agreement comes into force from the moment of its signing and will be valid for 96 months.// 02.11.2022 — InfoMarket
