NAER will urgently approve new electricity tariffs for consumers on November 2 due to the increase in purchase prices.
As reported by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, in particular, in the conditions of the energy crisis in which Moldova is located, and according to official statements by responsible persons in the sector, a contract for the purchase of electricity was not concluded with Moldavskaya GRES in November. Under these conditions, Energocom, the entity with the obligation to purchase electricity, will have to cover this shortfall through purchases on exchange platforms in Romania, where the price of electricity purchased is at the level of the European market. "Taking into account the current circumstances and existing objective factors, NAER will urgently consider operators' applications and adjust the regulated prices for electricity supplied to end consumers in accordance with the new purchase prices and the provisions of the tariff methodology," NAER said in a statement. An extraordinary open meeting of the NAER Administrative Council is scheduled to be held on November 2, at 17:00. NAER also reiterated the call for rational energy consumption in order to reduce the impact on both the electricity system and the bills of each family. // 01.11.2022 — InfoMarket
