Moldova can receive liquefied gas in transit through Bulgaria from terminals in Turkey and Greece.
This was stated by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, answering journalists' questions at a joint press conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu. Commenting on the signing of the contract between Energocom and Bulgartransgaz, he explained that Bulgaria has made great strides in diversifying gas supplies through the construction of various gas pipelines and participation in a liquefied gas terminal. Gas is sold and bought through transparent auctions. “We can choose gas suppliers from all over the world, based on the price and security of supply, and to transport gas to Moldova, we have the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, which can supply gas through the north of Moldova to the south. We can also supply gas from south to north, through Greece, Turkey, Romania. We have a separate gas connection with Romania. By signing a contract with Moldova, we extend a helping hand to its people. This means lower prices and safer deliveries,” said Rumen Radev. He noted that there are enough physical capacities for the transit of gas in the required volumes from Bulgaria to Moldova. "Moldova can make purchases from suppliers, and Bulgaria will provide transport," the head of the Bulgarian state stressed. //27.10.2022 — InfoMarket
