Even during the war in the neighboring country and the energy crisis, Moldova managed to attract several foreign investors - Marin Ciobanu.

This was stated by the Director of the Investment Agency at a session of the Economic Press Club, held on the topic "What are the risks faced by investors in Moldova: risk factors and solutions". First of all it is about attracting Schoeni company to the Balti Free Economic Zone (FEZ) (subzone Stefan-Voda), which will invest 1.5 million euros in building of a factory for processing of vegetables and fruits with area of 2 thousand square meters. The plant will create 50 thousand jobs. As previously reported, the business plan assumes that in the first year of activity the volume of production will be 18 million lei. In long term perspective it is planned to expand the capacities up to 10 thousand square meters with corresponding increase of investments and workplaces. The company will export the entire volume of production to Switzerland and EU countries. Another investor is German company BauTex-Stoffe that invests about $20 million in construction of a fabric and fiberglass products plant in the Balti FEZ (Straseni subzone). By 2028 the enterprise is expected to employ over 300 people and production volume will amount to about $80 million. The new resident of the Balti FEZ (subzone Rezina) is Frank Investment, registered by Danish Tunetanken. The volume of investments is 60 million lei. Tunetanken is a manufacturer of tanks, industrial fiberglass systems, with more than 50 years of experience and 6 production plants in Denmark and Latvia. In Rezina, the company has already purchased a building worth 5 million lei. Over the next 2 years, it plans to invest about 60 million lei to expand, equip and reconstruct the plant and create about 200 highly skilled jobs. Subsequently, Frank Investment plans to expand its production and increase the number of employees, of which 80% are engineers and technicians. Participants of the meeting of the Economic Press Club noted that the big companies are looking for new opportunities in the new world economic realities precisely during the crisis. //27.10.2022 - InfoMarket
