The deadline for electricity purchase by the state-run Energocom on the basis of direct negotiations has been extended to November-December.
This decision was adopted by the Commission for Emergency Situations in order to meet electricity needs in conditions of shortages resulting from Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, as well as limited volumes of natural gas supplied to Moldova by Gazprom. It is stipulated that in order to meet the electric power needs of the internal market, Energocom will be able to conclude contracts for electricity supply based on direct negotiations and/or through the exchange. Universal service providers, guaranteeing suppliers and system operators, will purchase the energy required by end users on the basis of bilateral contracts concluded with Energocom, and in case of changes, additional agreements will be concluded within 2 working days. // 01.11.2022 - InfoMarket
