The Competition Council will analyze the measure of state support for Energocom by directing half of the company's net profit to the purchase of specialized software.
This week the Competition Council received the relevant notification of state aid in the form of the state's refusal to receive part of the dividends in this enterprise. In particular, it is planned to use 50% of Energocom's net profit for 2021 in the amount of 4.3 million lei for the purchase of specialized software necessary for the company's activities in the energy market in the context of risks in providing the population with energy resources. Recall that the net profit of Energocom in 2021, compared to 2020, decreased by 2.8 times, amounting to 8.71 million lei against 24.47 million lei a year earlier. Energocom is 100% owned by the state. The company is the central supplier of electricity and supplies electricity at unregulated tariffs for the needs of the domestic market.
