The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported this, stating that last July monthly inflation amounted to 0.08%, annual inflation (over the last 12 months) - 3.49%, while inflation in January-July 2021 was recorded at 3.95%. According to NBS, consumer prices in July 2022, compared to June 2022, increased by an average of 1.39%, against the background of rising food prices by 0.18%, non-food prices by 1.19%, as well as a 3.39% increase in tariffs for services provided to the population. According to official statistics, in particular, in July 2022, relative to the previous month, prices of the following food items increased more significantly: eggs - by 17.5%, sugar - by 5.8%, wheat flour bread - 1.2%, milk and dairy products - 1.1%. At the same time, prices for: vegetables increased on average by 12.7% (including: tomatoes - by 35.3%, cucumbers - by 12.4%, onions - by 12.7%, garlic - by 11.9%), potatoes - by 7%, vegetable oil - by 2.7%, which in general contributed to the mitigation of the monthly increase in average consumer prices by about 0.6%. When it comes to non-food items, in July 2022, compared to the previous month, a more significant increase in prices was for building materials for home maintenance and repair - by 3.1%. At the same time, during the same period there was a slight decrease in prices for fuel and lubricants - by 0.1%. For services provided to the population in July 2022, compared to June 2022, prices/tariffs have increased on average by 3.39%, with a more pronounced increase in tariffs for housing and communal services - by 2.7% (including services for electricity supply - by 4.8%) and passenger transport services - by 20.3%, which in total caused an increase in the average consumer prices by more than 0.8%. According to NBS, overall inflation in January-July 2022 was 21.84%, with food prices up 21.72%, non-food prices up 16.26%, and tariffs for services provided to the population up 30.25%.
