Import of coal and transportation of firewood has been facilitated in Moldova, and Termoelectrica was allowed to urgently purchase 20 thousand tons of fuel oil.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu, the relevant decisions were taken by the Commission for Emergency Situations in preparation for winter. According to the decision of the Commission, during the state of emergency, the import of sawdust, waste and unagglomerated wood residues, used as raw material for production of solid biofuel (pellets, briquettes) is allowed. It is allowed to provide services for transportation of firewood by automobile transport on the basis of documents of origin, without mandatory prior notification and registration and availability of permits in motor transportation sector. Termoelectrica is allowed to urgently purchase fuel oil to ensure its minimum reserve of 20 thousand tons. At the same time, the operator of the bulk cargo terminal in the port of Giurgiulesti shall give priority to provision of port services for coal destined for final entry into Moldova. For this purpose, importers shall submit a written request to the terminal administration at least 48 hours in advance, specifying the exact volumes to be placed under the regime of final import into Moldova. // 09.08.2022 - InfoMarket
