The program to support businesses with high growth potential and its internationalization will change its name, and its capabilities will be expanded.
The government at a meeting on Wednesday made changes and additions to this program, which are aimed at improving it and expanding access to its financial resources. The program itself will now be called the Small and Medium Enterprise Competitiveness and Internationalization Program. The eligibility criteria for potential beneficiaries of the program have been adjusted, the procedure for providing vouchers has been improved. SMEs will be able to submit additional grant applications until the aggregate maximum allowed grant amount per beneficiary is reached (currently only one grant application is allowed). The procedure for issuing business vouchers by the Enterprise Development Organization will be simplified. The composition of the evaluation commission for consideration of applications has also been changed and the target indicators of the program have been adjusted. It should be noted that by now the first acceptance of applications for the participation of enterprises in this program has already taken place. As the head of the Ministry of Economy Sergiu Gaibu noted, 55 beneficiaries of the program have been approved so far: 25 for the provision of vouchers in the amount of 1.8 million lei and 30 for the provision of grants in the amount of 42.3 million lei. The total cost of investment projects is 92.7 million lei. It should be noted that 70 million lei are provided for the implementation of the program in the state budget for the current year. // 03.08.2022 — InfoMarket.
