A government decree came into force on the approval of the Program for Retechnological and Energy Efficiency Improvement of SMEs.
The corresponding document was published on August 5 in Monitorul Oficial. The program aims to increase the efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises, replace inefficient technical equipment and devices with modern technological solutions, and optimize production costs through the implementation of energy efficiency measures. Under this program, SMEs will be able to receive gratuitous financial support. In particular, the grant component provides for two categories of support: up to 2 million lei per beneficiary - for retechnologization (automation of production, robotization of products, modernization of existing technological lines, implementation of IT solutions for managing production lines and training systems for optimizing production) and up to 1 million lei for the installation of equipment and systems for the production of renewable energy (solar water heating systems, photovoltaic panels, wind turbines for the production of electricity, devices and equipment for the production or use of biogas, heating installation devices). In both cases, the grant component cannot exceed 50% of the project cost, and the beneficiary must ensure that electricity consumption is reduced by at least 15% as a result of the project implementation. Grant support will be allocated in two equal tranches. SMEs that do not have sufficient financial resources of their own will be able to cover the capital gap from credit sources, including using a financial guarantee issued by the SME Loan Guarantee Fund. The other two components of the program include activities to inform SMEs about the importance of retechnologization and energy efficiency improvements, including through media coverage, as well as monitoring and evaluation of the program, which is expected to last 36 months. Its budget will be 50 million lei per year (150 million lei in total). The implementation of the program will be provided by the Business Development Organization (ODA).// 05.08.2022 — InfoMarket
