The experts of the MISRA Program analyze the assessment of the impact of the war in Ukraine on the transport and logistics sector of Moldova and on international trade.
As the Customs Service reported, last week, in the context of preparing this study, specialists from the USAID Program for Institutional and Structural Reforms in Moldova (MISRA) visited several checkpoints on the Moldovan-Romanian and Moldovan-Ukrainian sections of the border, as well as the future border crossing Leova-Bumbata. The study will allow assessing the difficulties in the field of transport and trade that Moldova faces in the context of the regional crisis. At the same time, the MISRA program will provide short-term support to Moldova to help the country cope with the difficulties caused by the regional crisis, including in the field of transport and logistics. Recommendations will also be made on long-term actions in areas that require more in-depth analysis and specific technical expertise (feasibility studies for strengthening modes of transport or technical assistance, etc.). As previously reported, the MISRA program will be implemented in 2022-2027. It aims to improve the business and trade environment in Moldova by supporting Moldovan public institutions and the private sector in the implementation of trade liberalization mechanisms, structural reforms and business promotion, as well as in improving strategic communication between private and public sector entities. // 26.07.2022 — InfoMarket.
