Agricultural producers to get increased excise tax compensation for diesel fuel; the government will allocate additional 120 million lei for this purpose.
Moldovan government made corresponding amendments to the Regulation on the procedure of distribution of means of the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development for partial compensation of excise duties on diesel fuel in 2022. According to the amendments, micro, small and medium sized enterprises and enterprises of the zoo industry will be compensated 100% of excise duties on diesel fuel (2980 lei per ton) and the rest categories of agricultural enterprises - 30% of excise duties (894 lei per ton). Also, the formula for calculating the amount of compensation has been adjusted: if now the area of cultivated crops and the average consumption rate of diesel fuel are taken into account, in the new version the amount of compensation will be calculated based on the total volume of fuel used, the coefficient of density of diesel fuel (0.845 kg/l) and the compensation coefficient, depending on the category of beneficiary. The government also increased the budget for the payment of excise tax compensations for diesel fuel from 200 million lei to 320 million lei in 2022. The maximum amount of compensation per beneficiary will be up to 200 thousand lei. Compensations will be available from January 1, 2022. Documents for compensation are to be submitted throughout 2022, but no more than one application per half year (until June 30 for the first half-year and from July 1 to November 15 for the second half-year) or per year. Applications for compensation for diesel fuel in the first half of 2022 will be accepted until July 31. At the same time, farmers who have applied for compensation after April 29 will be able to submit an additional application or supplement an already submitted application for compensation for the first 4 months of the year. // 06.07.2022 - InfoMarket
