State-owned Energocom will extend power purchase contracts for July-August based on direct negotiations.
The Emergency Situations Commission adopted this decision. As noted in its order, in order to ensure the necessary amount of electricity for the domestic market, Energocom is charged with the obligation to perform the public service for the purchase of electricity requested by system operators, universal suppliers and suppliers of last resort for July-August 2022. In order to provide consumers with electricity during this period, Energocom will enter into contracts for the purchase of electricity based on direct negotiations. In order to ensure the volume of electricity required by end consumers and system operators to cover technological consumption and electricity losses in the power grids for July-August, universal service providers, suppliers of last resort and system operators are instructed to purchase electricity based on bilateral contracts entered into by Energocom for this purpose. If in the period from July to August the conditions of electricity purchase change, universal service providers, suppliers of last resort and system operators will conclude additional agreements to the contracts with Energocom within two working days. As earlier reported, in June, right bank Moldova buys 70% of the electric power from the Moldovan HPP, which is on the territory of Transnistria and belongs to Russian Inter RAO, at $59.9 per 1 MW, and 30% from Energoatom of Ukraine at $77 per 1 MW. In May, Moldova also purchased electricity from two sources - 70% from the Moldovan HPP and 30% from Ukraine's Ukrhydroenergo. // 27.06.2022 - InfoMarket
