The state of emergency in Moldova can be extended for another 45 days.

According to the press service of the government, the relevant proposal was approved by the Commission for Emergency Situations at a meeting on Tuesday. According to the report presented at the meeting of the commission, the need to extend the state of emergency for 45 days, starting from June 24, is due to the ongoing risks to the security of Moldova's energy supply, as well as the impact on transport, the country's energy security, border security and migration flow management. It is noted that in a state of emergency, the Commission for Emergency Situations will be able to intervene promptly and, if necessary, make decisions, in addition to those established by the current regulatory framework, to provide all consumers with energy resources and maintain the energy security of the state. According to the order of the commission, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will prepare a draft government decree on submitting a proposal to parliament to extend the state of emergency, as well as a corresponding draft parliamentary decree. Recall, on February 24, the Moldovan Parliament declared a state of emergency throughout Moldova for 60 days due to the deteriorating security situation in the region and in order to ensure national security. Subsequently, on April 25, Parliament extended the state of emergency for another 60 days. // 21.06.2022 — InfoMarket
