Moldova: Industrial production volume increased in January-April 2022 by 0.2%, compared to the same period of 2021.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported this, without providing data in value terms. According to the agency, at the same time in April 2022 the volume of industrial production decreased by 10.4% compared to the same month last year. Overall, in January-April 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, production in the extractive industry increased by 8.9%, and in the processing industry - increased by 2.5%. According to NBS, food industry enterprises in 4 months of 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased production volumes by 45.2% overall. Beverage production increased by 10.5%, textile production decreased by 12.6%. Production of clothing increased by 10.9%. Tanning and finishing of leather; production of suitcases, bags, saddlery and saddlery; dressing and dyeing of fur grew by 5.3%, and wood processing and production of wood and cork products, except furniture; production of straw and other plant materials for weaving increased by 31.3%. Production of paper and paper products increased by 17.5%, while the production of chemicals and chemical products increased by 9.6%. Production of pharmaceutical products and drugs decreased by 2.1%, while rubber and plastic products production increased by 22.9%. In the metallurgical industry production decreased by 25%. Production of metal structures and products, except machinery, equipment and installations increased by 4%, and computers, electronic and optical products production decreased by 13.9%. Production of electrical equipment decreased by 49%, machinery and equipment decreased by 57.3%, and automobiles, trailers and semi-trailers decreased 46.9%. Production of furniture increased by 6.8%. Repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment decreased by 28.9%. Production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and hot water decreased by 8.3%.
