Moldovan Government compensates the first 150 cubic meters of gas for household consumers, and 500 cubic meters of gas for non-household consumers.
This decision was adopted by Emergency Situations Commission in connection with another increase in natural gas tariffs. In particular, it was decided that in order to support domestic consumers, the government will compensate them 79.8% of the difference resulting from the price increase for the first 50 cubic meters of gas consumed per month, and for the next 100 cubic meters of used gas - 69.5% of the difference, so that the price they pay for gas will remain at the level of 6.8 lei per 1 cu. m for the first 50 cubic meters and, accordingly, 7.9 lei per 1 cu. m for the next 100 cubic meters. For non-household consumers, defined as natural or legal persons who purchase natural gas from natural gas suppliers for purposes other than their own household needs, excluding government authorities and institutions, the government will compensate the first 500 cubic meters of consumed gas at 100% of the difference between the regulated price for the supply of natural gas in the billing month and the corresponding price in December 2021, after the initial increase. The procedure for compensation will be similar to that for household consumers, with the invoices showing separately the total amount for services rendered, the amount of compensation and the amount to be paid by each consumer after recalculation. Government support will be provided retroactively starting January 1, 2022, and will be provided in February and March of this year. To compensate for the price difference for non-household consumers, after the last increase in natural gas tariffs, 60 million lei will be allocated from the Government Intervention Fund. // 02.02.2022 - InfoMarket
