
Moldova: The volume of industrial production increased by 12.6% in January-October 2021, compared to the same period of 2021.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported this, without providing data on industrial production in value terms. According to the agency, at the same time in October 2021 the volume of industrial production increased by 11% compared to the same month of the previous year. In total, in January-October 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, production in the extractive industry increased by 11.5%, and in the processing industry - increased by 11.8%. According to the NBS data, food industry enterprises over 10 months of 2021 increased their production volumes by 4% compared to the same period in 2020. The beverage industry registered a 7.42% increase. Textile production was up 13.2%. Clothing production increased by 14.9%. The "tanning and finishing of leather; production of suitcases, bags, saddlery and saddlery; dressing and dyeing of fur" section registered an increase of 16.8%, and the section "wood processing and production of wood and cork products, except furniture; production of products of straw and other plant materials for weaving" – an increase of 46.9%. The production of paper and paper products increased by 21.6%, and the production of chemicals and chemical products decreased by 10%. There was registered a 21% growth in the production of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceuticals and a 16.8% increase in the production of rubber and plastic products. In the metallurgical industry production increased by 44.9%. The production of metal structures and products, except for machinery, equipment and installations increased by 20.5%, and in the section "production of computers, electronic and optical products" the index increased by 19.5%. The production of electrical equipment registered an increase of 10.4%. The production of machinery and equipment increased by 10.8%, while the production of cars, trailers and semi-trailers decreased by 17.8%. The volume of furniture production almost doubled (+95.4%). The section "repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment" registered an increase of 61.9%. Production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and hot water increased by 18.4%.
