The Chisinau Municipal Council approved in the first reading the budget and local tax rates for 2022.

According to the draft budget, in 2022 the revenues of the Chisinau municipal budget will amount to 5 billion 428 million lei, of which 2 billion 905.6 million lei are transfers from the state budget (about 53.6%), and expenditures will amount to 6 billion 608.4 million lei. The budget deficit of 1 billion 179.57 million lei is planned to be covered mainly through internal loans and the issue of municipal bonds (812.6 million lei), external loans for the implementation of projects (450.5 million lei), as well as the balance of funds on the accounts of the municipal budget as of the end of the current year (300 million lei). At the same time, according to the recommendations of foreign experts, in 2022 most of the local fees set for the current year will increase in line with the growth in inflation over the previous year (+ 3.8% in 2020). At the same time, some rates of fees will remain at the current level (fee for sanitary cleaning, fee levied from dog owners, fee for temporary accommodation levied from accommodation structures). The rate of fees for entities that provide passenger transportation services in taxi mode will increase to 350 lei per month per vehicle, since their amount has not changed since 2013. Fees for units serving regular routes will remain at the level of the previous year - from 325 to 700 lei per month, depending on the route. It is stipulated that in the event of the termination of the activities of economic agents on the basis of decisions by the Commission for Emergency Situations in connection with the pandemic, they will be exempted from paying local fees. As for the taxation of retail and service facilities, in 2022, for most of them, local tax rates will increase. A local tax is introduced for restaurants for animals - 5.5 thousand lei, apart-hotels - 4 thousand lei, hostels - 4 thousand lei, auction houses - 20 thousand lei, and traveling salesmen - 2 thousand lei. The fe levied from online stores will increase from 5 thousand to 7.5 thousand lei, while in the first year of the store's operation, payment will be 50% of this amount. // 16.12.2021 - InfoMarket.
