The Moldovan authorities intend to attract investments for the modernization of the Marculesti airport and use its potential.
This was announced by the Director of the Public Property Agency Eugeniu Cozonac and the Minister of Economy Sergiu Gaibu, who visited Marculesti airport today on a working visit, having familiarized themselves with the state of the facility, and discussed the possibilities of renovation, development and modernization of this airport. During the meeting organized on this occasion, the administrator of the enterprise Nicolae Clichici noted that the airport is functional, it has international certification and it can receive a variety of aircraft at any time. One of the pressing issues requiring urgent solutions and support is the implementation of initiatives to stabilize the company's economic position. The airport director presented airport equipment, warehouses, a customs post, aircraft, as well as an updated 2,520-meter runway. “In the process of modernization, there is also equipment, technical means to ensure access for passengers and transport,” said Nicolae Clichici. Eugeniu Cozonac said that the Marculesti airport has great potential. In this regard, the necessary investments were discussed to transform abandoned buildings into usable facilities, such as the construction of a passenger terminal and a bus station.
