In Moldova, it is planned to attract 400-800 million euros in the development of capacities for the production of electricity from renewable sources, and the share of such energy in the total consumption will grow from 3% to 30%

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu, noting that the government-approved resolution on the approval of new capacity limits, maximum quotas and capacity categories in the field of electricity from renewable sources until December 31, 2025. Andrei Spinu noted that the draft of the aforementioned government decree was developed with the aim of adapting to the current conditions of the legal framework for the application / implementation of the support schemes provided for in Art. 34 of the Law on the Promotion of the Use of Energy from Renewable Sources, which stipulates that the following support scheme is applied to promote the production and use of electricity from renewable sources: a) a fixed price set in the course of tendering for an eligible producer who owns or will own power plants with an aggregate capacity in excess of the capacity limit set by the government; b) a fixed tariff set by NAER for an eligible manufacturer who owns or will own power plants with an aggregate capacity not exceeding the capacity limit set by the government, but not less than 10 kilowatts. In addition, the decree deals with the allocation of capacity quotas for solar and wind power generation plants, cogeneration plants based on biogas and hydroelectric power plants. According to the minister, when establishing and approving new maximum capacity quotas for renewable energy installations for the period up to 2025, the results of the simulation of the national power system in a specialized simulator / software tool called ANTARES were taken into account. This event was carried out with the support of an international consultant within the framework of the STARS technical assistance project funded by the European Union. If the quotas are successfully applied, the share of renewable energy sources in the total electricity consumption will grow from the current 3% to 30%. Andrei Spinu stressed that the implementation of the resolution adopted by the government will have a positive impact on the economy and the state budget, because large investments in the amount of 400 million to 800 million euros will be mobilized by the private sector, which, like development partners, is showing increased interest in investments in renewable energy sources, into new generating capacities, which will bring new revenues to the budget, creation of new jobs, etc. // 08.12.2021 — InfoMarket
