The Ministry of Economy is starting to develop the National Program for the Development of Entrepreneurship and Increase of Competitiveness for 2022-2026.

The medium-term public policy document, designed for 5 years, is aimed at creating an enabling environment for making progress in critical areas related to the development of entrepreneurship and increasing the competitiveness of Moldovan companies at the local and international levels. Priority action areas for the program will include: improving the regulatory framework for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), developing an entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem, enhancing entrepreneurial culture and skills, increasing enterprise access to financial resources, and developing a business support infrastructure. The program will include measures to stimulate export growth in the context of the internationalization of Moldovan SMEs, more efficient use of DCFTA opportunities; measures to support innovation and digital transformation of SMEs; transition of SMEs to a green economy, ensuring access to various types of financing, etc. The program will be accompanied by an action plan for the first 3 years, which will set targets.
