Within the framework of the second reading of the draft Law on the 2022 State Budget, the MPs proposed to introduce 51 amendments, providing for additional expenses of 504.5 million lei, but the government approved only 2 of them.

Finance Minister Dumitru Budianschi announced this, noting that as a result, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the redistribution of funds between some institutions, without changing the previously approved general indicators of revenues, budget expenditures and its deficit. The Minister of Finance stressed that out of the total number of additional 472.2 million lei requested by parliamentarians, they were intended for local public authorities. He recalled that in the context of the creation next year of a new fund for local and regional development with a financing volume of 770 million lei, local authorities will have the opportunity to receive additional funds from it next year for water supply and sewerage projects and other infrastructure projects. In addition, the Social Investment Fund envisages an increase from 5 million to 25 million lei of the funds for the modernization and construction of sanitary groups for educational institutions. In addition, according to the amendments, from January 1, 2022, all receipts from road usage charges will be transferred to local budgets, and thus, their receipts under this item for the development of road infrastructure will more than double. // 03.12.2021 - InfoMarket.
