
Moldovan agrarians sowed agricultural crops this year on a total area of about 990 thousand hectares, including winter crops – on 345 thousand hectares and spring crops – on 645 thousand hectares.
According to the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA), about 290 thousand hectares of crops were planted this fall - 200 thousand hectares of wheat and 65 thousand hectares of barley, with most of the seeds used having passed the quality test. It is noted that during the year ANSA inspectors monitored the agricultural process, carried out control, inspections and certification of seeds and planting material. According to the Agency, annually about 3 thousand tons of corn seeds and 800 tons of sunflower seeds are exported to Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Romania. Vegetable seeds are supplied to Holland, Belarus, Russia. At the same time, in 2021, planting stock of fruit crops was produced and certified - 8.8 million pcs; berry crops - 3.1 million pcs; decorative crops - 20 million pcs; grapes - about 3.3 million grafted vines. Almost a quarter of all planting material is exported to Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, and Serbia. ANSA specialists are directly involved in the implementation of tasks for the production and multiplication of seeds and planting material, checking them on such aspects as the authenticity of the variety, biological purity, preservation of the health of the material intended for use in planting the seeds and the planting material. // 14.12.2021 - InfoMarket
