Moldova to discuss with Poland the issue of natural gas supplies to our country.
This was reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. As noted, on October 18-19, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spinu, will pay a working visit to Poland, during which he will discuss issues of natural gas supplies to Moldova. Other details are not provided. It should be noted that earlier the head of the Ukrainian GTS Operator, Sergiy Makogon, said that after the termination of the transit of Russian natural gas to Hungary through Ukraine, Kiev still has the opportunity to import it via the so-called virtual reverse only from Poland and Slovakia. “Virtual reverse has long been available in all directions where there is a transit flow. Currently, these are Slovakia and Poland” he said. Earlier, Poland also announced that it does not intend to renew the contract with Gazprom for gas supplies from Russia and instead of Russian gas Poland will in the future use Norwegian gas, which will enter the country via the Baltic Pipe through Denmark. The cost of Baltic Pipe is about 1.7 billion euros, and more than half will be paid by the Polish gas operator Gaz-System. Due to the Baltic Pipe and purchases of liquefied natural gas (LNG), Poland is going not only to abandon the contract for supplies of gas from Russia, but also to become an exporter of fuel. The Polish authorities explained the refusal to renew the contract for the supply of Russian gas by the fact that the country is incurring losses due to too high prices. Warsaw is going to provide itself with gas by purchasing liquefied natural gas (LNG), as well as supplies from Norway. // 18.10.2021- InfoMarket.
