The revenues and expenditures of the state social insurance budget for 2021 will be increased by almost 1 billion lei (+ 4.1%) and will amount to 27.49 billion lei.

This is provided for by amendments to the Law on the State Social Insurance Budget for 2021, which the parliament adopted on Friday in the first reading. According to the amendments, in particular, the expenditures on personnel, on goods and services, on social payments will increase, including on updating the indexation coefficient of pensions and increasing the minimum old-age pension to 2000 lei from October 1. The change in income and expenses also applies to an increase in the average amount of benefits, including for the maintenance of persons who do not meet the conditions for obtaining the right to a pension (social benefits) - from 601 million 863.6 thousand to 733 million 129.8 thousand lei (+ 131 million 266.2 thousand lei). The costs of caring for persons with disabilities will also increase from 165 million 561.6 thousand to 190 million 000.6 thousand lei (+24 million 439 thousand lei). Expenditures for the payment of pensions to military personnel and their family members will increase by 512.2 thousand lei; for financial support of persons in case of disability or death as a result of industrial accidents by increasing periodic payments - by 85.4 thousand lei, as well as for paying pensions to citizens who participated in the liquidation of the consequences at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and their families - by 556.7 thousand lei. In general, the draft amendments to the Law on the State Social Insurance Budget for 2021 are aimed at efficient and transparent management of funding sources for the state social insurance system.
