
Presidents of Moldova and Germany called on the entrepreneurs of the two countries to explore opportunities for investment and expanding trade and economic ties.
During the Moldovan-German business forum, which took place yesterday in Chisinau, the Presidents of Moldova and Germany Maia Sandu and Frank-Walter Steinmeier called on entrepreneurs to use the opportunities of both countries and invest in mutually beneficial projects. Maia Sandu spoke about the priorities of the new authorities, about the support provided to Moldova by international partners, as well as about the advantages of our country for investment and openness to investors. “Moldova is a European country with a convenient geographic location, bound by free trade agreements with the EU and the CIS countries. We speak many languages and have a well-trained workforce. The new government has committed itself to eradicating corruption and realizing a true reform of justice, and also intends to improve governance in general, bring clarity and transparency in relations between business and the state, strengthen the stability of the banking system and legally guarantee the protection of property and investments,” said Maia Sandu , assuring that Moldovan authorities are ready to create a business climate that allows developing successful business in Moldova. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in turn, noted that Moldova and Germany are reliable partners and have their own history of cooperation. Today in Moldova there are about 400 enterprises with German capital, which have created more than 9 thousand jobs in the automotive industry, agro-food industry, etc. Today, according to Steinmeier, Germany's foreign direct investment in the Moldovan economy has reached 275 million euros. In addition, the German President stressed that Germany and Moldova are already important commercial partners: Germany ranks 4th among Moldova's export partners and 5th in imports.
