The substantial EU assistance totaling up to 600 million euros under the Economic Recovery Plan will help strengthen the economy of Moldova, increase investments, improve the business climate, and demonopolize the economy.

This was stated by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita during a meeting in Brussels with members of the European Parliament delegation at the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee, where a discussion of future relations between the EU and Moldova and areas in which the parties can intensify cooperation took place. Prime Minister highlighted the priorities on her government's agenda: continuing justice reform and fighting corruption; managing the COVID-19 pandemic; promoting economic recovery and providing conditions for economic growth and job creation; strengthening state institutions and the country's resilience. The meeting also discussed the financially substantial economic recovery plan estimated at up to 600 million euros in subsidies, loans, guarantees and investments. Prime Minister noted that this support is necessary to maintain and strengthen the Moldovan economy and will help to increase investment, improve the business climate, demonopolize the economy and promote digital transformation. Natalia Gavrilita assured that all the resources provided to Moldova will be used to stimulate a greener and more sustainable economy. “I am here to resume the dialogue between Moldova and the European Union. Our partnership is strong, but I believe there is room for even deeper cooperation and closer political, economic and sectoral ties. I am convinced that this partnership is a guarantee of the prosperity of our country, and I hope that we will continue to strengthen our cooperation,” said Natalya Gavrilita. MEPs reaffirmed their support for the Moldovan government and its ambitious reform agenda. // 29.09.2021 - InfoMarket
