Projects for the recycling of used car tires and engine oils and used cars will be able to receive grants of up to 20 thousand euros.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, in partnership with the Unit for the Implementation of Environmental Projects, announced the launch of a Grant Program for Specific Waste Management in Moldova: Waste Oils, Worn Tires and Retired Vehicles. As the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment Ghenadie Iurco noted during a press conference on Monday, the grants program is aimed at raising awareness of society in general, and especially of legal entities that generate such waste, about the risks of misuse of used tires and oils, and vehicles, as well as the serious impact of such waste on the environment and human health. The program will implement waste management projects to increase the capacity to prevent, store, reuse, recycle and market products with recycled content. Legal entities of any form of organization registered in Moldova in accordance with the legislation and having at least 3 years of experience in the field of collection, processing, reuse and disposal of waste will be able to participate in the grant program. This encourages the participation of civil society organizations as well as partnerships with local authorities. Projects worth from 5 thousand to 25 thousand euros can participate in the grant competition, of which up to 80% can be covered within the framework of the program, and 20% must be the participants' own contribution.
