According to updated data, 7,549 housing units (apartments and individual houses) have been commissioned in Moldova in 2020, which is 24.2% (2406 units) less than in 2019.
At the same time, the total area of housing commissioned was 602.5 thousand square meters, which is 21% lower than the figure registered a year earlier. This was reported by the National Bureau of Statistics. Earlier, the department reported on the commissioning of 6906 housing units in Moldova, noting that this is 2088 units (23.2%) less than a year earlier. Then it was reported that the total area of residential premises (apartments and individual residential buildings), put into operation in January-December 2020, amounted to 545.5 thousand square meters, and, compared to the same period in 2019, this figure decreased by 20.7%. According to the updated data of official statistics, in 2020, in Moldova as a whole, 5614 apartments were commissioned (5179 apartments reported previously) with a total area of 368.4 thousand square meters (previously reported - 337.1 thousand sq. m.), which is 30.4% less than in 2019 in terms of the number of apartments, and also 31.3% less in terms of area. At the same time, in 2020, 1935 residential buildings were commissioned (1727 reported previously) with a total area of 234.1 thousand square meters (earlier it was reported about 208.4 thousand square meters), which is 2.3% higher than the previous year in terms of the number of leased housing and 3.1% more in area. According to the updated NBS data, in urban areas of Moldova in 2020, there were commissioned 6429 housing units (5895 reported previously) with a total area of 473.2 thousand square meters (previously reported - 429.4 thousand sq. m.), which is 28% lower than in 2019 in terms of the number of housing and 26% less in terms of area. In rural areas, 1,120 housing units were commissioned in 2020 (1011 previously reported), which is 8.8% more than a year earlier, and its total area was 129.3 thousand square meters (previously reported - 116.1 thousand sq. m.) and increased by 4.5%. Most housing was commissioned in 2020 in the municipality of Chisinau: according to updated data - 6001 units (-25.2%, compared to 2019) with a total area of 430.3 thousand square meters (-24.4%). Last year, in the northern region, 518 housing units (+ 33.2%) were commissioned with a total area of 55.7 thousand square meters (+ 28.5%), in the central region - 701 housing units (-40%) with a total area of 75.7 thousand square meters (-29.5%), in the southern region - 230 housing units (-12.5%) with a total area of 27.2 thousand square meters (-7.5%), in ATU Gagauzia - 99 housing units (-13.2%) with a total area of 13.6 thousand square meters (+ 1.9%). // 28.07.2021 – InfoMarket
