
Moldovan exports in January-April 2021 amounted to $903 million, up 9.5% compared to the same period in 2020.
The National Bureau of Statistics informed that, the export of domestic goods in the first 4 months of 2021 amounted to $670.9 million (74.3% of the total), up 4.1% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the re-export of goods in January-April 2021 amounted to $232.1 million (25.7% of the total), which is 28.8% more than in the same period in 2020. At the same time, the re-export of goods after processing (clothes, shoes, shoe parts, armchairs, electrical wiring and cables, other products for the automotive industry, peeled nuts, chairs and other furniture, suitcases, textiles, toys, etc.) accounted for 17.1% of total exports, and the classic re-export of foreign goods (medicines, cigarettes, wine distillates, whiskey, gin, vodka, liqueurs, beer, fuel, textiles, knitwear, essential oils, perfumes and cosmetics, vehicles, furniture, etc.) – 8.6%. According to the NBS, for the export of goods abroad in the specified period, road transport was most often used - 93.1% of the total volume, followed by sea transport - 4.9%, air - 1.1%, rail - 0.8% , as well as postage - 0.1%. In general, Moldovan exports to the EU countries in January-April 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 9.8% - to $581.5 million, to the CIS countries - increased by 11.9% - to $144.3 million, and to other countries - increased by 6.6% - to $177.3 million. The share of EU countries in the total volume of Moldovan exports for the specified period increased from 64.2% to 64.39%, the share of CIS countries - increased from 15.64% to 15.98%, while the share of other countries decreased from 20.17% to 19.63%. According to the NBS, in the first 4 months of 2021, the main countries of destination for Moldovan exports were: Romania (27.4% of total Moldovan exports), Germany (10.5%), Turkey (9.7%), Russia (9.5%), Italy (6.4%), Poland (4%), Czech Republic (3.1%), Ukraine (3%), Belarus (2.5%), Spain (1.8%), Great Britain (1.6%), Hungary (1.6%), Holland and Bulgaria (1.5% each), Switzerland and France (1.4% each). At the same time, in January-April 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, Moldova increased exports to Romania (+ 22.1%), Turkey (1.7 times), Germany (+ 30.5%) , Hungary (2.9 times), Russia (+ 9.7%), Ukraine (+ 35.7%), Belgium (2.2 times), Lebanon (+ 42%), Great Britain (+ 15.1 %), Canada (1.8 times), Egypt (17.7 times), Uzbekistan (2.1 times), Poland (+ 3.3%), China (+ 27.6%), Slovakia ( + 22.3%), Holland (+ 4.8%), Georgia (+ 9.3%), Latvia (+ 36.1%), Czech Republic (+ 1.8%), Nigeria (2 times), Lithuania (+ 18.4%), North Macedonia (1.7 times). At the same time, during the specified period, Moldova reduced exports to Switzerland (-59.8%), Italy (-18.8%), Greece (-43.6%), Cyprus (-68%), Indonesia (-92.7%), Malaysia (-98.7%), Spain (-11.3%), Bulgaria (-13.7%), France (-13.1%), Belarus (-7%), Estonia ( -60.6%), Jordan (-91.2%), South Africa (-64.5%), Saudi Arabia (-38.5%), Philippines (-96.5%), Taiwan (-81.4 %), Iraq (-15.8%), Morocco (-83.2%), USA (-4.7%).
