According to the State Tax Service, in 2020, economic agents and individuals who are engaged in entrepreneurial activity filed 102.14 thousand income tax declarations, which is 3% more than in 2019. As the director of the State Tax Service Sergiu Puscuta noted, last year the number of declarations filed by small and medium-sized enterprises (IVAO) increased. In addition, there has been an increase in the number of ONG declarations filed by non-governmental organizations, as for the 2020 tax period, the obligation to file such a declaration arose among condominium co-owners. Last year, more than 56% of declarations were submitted in electronic form, 41.6% - on paper, 2% - were "quick declarations". In total, according to the State Tax Service, taxpayers who were engaged in entrepreneurial activity last year received revenues of 397.5 billion lei (-8.3% compared to 2019), and their expenses amounted to 371.8 billion lei (-7.2%). “This decrease in both indicators reflects trends in the country's economy in the context of a pandemic, imposed restrictions, natural disasters,” said Puscuta. The amount of the declared income tax from business activities amounted to 3.76 billion lei (in 2019 - 4.18 billion lei).
