The Moldovan government will allocate 60 million lei from its Reserve Fund for the purchase of a vaccine against COVID-19.

The corresponding decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting on Thursday. The said funds will be received by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection in order to purchase vaccines for the start of large-scale vaccination of the country's population. It is planned that with the 60 million lei allocated from the Government's Reserve Fund, 338,600 doses of vaccine will be purchased (the approximate price of each is $ 10), which is about 24.4% of the required 1,386,115 doses. The National Agency of Public Health estimates that 4,851,403 doses of vaccine are needed to reach the vaccination target for 70% of the country's population. Considering that 1,386,115 doses of vaccine (for 20% of the population) will be obtained free of charge through the COVAX platform, and 2,079,173 doses (for 30% of the population) will be purchased through COVAX at a discounted price, the remaining 1,386,115 doses (for 20% of the population ) must be purchased by our country.// 11.03.2021 — InfoMarket.
