Since March 5, Moldova tightens rules for arrivals into the country.

The National Emergency Public Health Commission has approved new measures to prevent and control COVID-19 infection when crossing the state border to enter Moldova for both Moldovan and foreign citizens. According to the new rules, from March 5, all persons entering the country must fill out an epidemiological card and be in self-isolation for 14 days, having signed the appropriate declaration of responsibility. At the same time, persons who present at the border a negative PCR test result, made no earlier than 72 hours before boarding public transport or 72 hours before entering the territory of Moldova by personal transport, are exempted from self-isolation. People who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 are also not quarantined if they have an appropriate vaccination certificate. Supporting documents are accepted in Romanian, English, French or Russian. At the same time, persons who have not submitted a PCR test at the border can interrupt the quarantine on the 10th day if a test for coronavirus is done and it turns out to be negative. In addition, the following persons are exempted from 2-week self-isolation: children under the age of 5; drivers and service personnel of freight vehicles and vehicles transporting passengers; persons traveling across the border for health reasons and their accompanying persons; pupils and students; persons entering abroad for professional purposes who present the relevant documents upon their return to Moldova (an agreement with a foreign economic agent or a delegation order issued by Moldovan state institutions); cross-border workers entering from Romania or Ukraine; holders of diplomatic, service and special passports; athletes participating in international sports competitions and training camps; persons summoned to court. It is noted that the commission took such measures in the context of the worsening epidemiological situation at the national and international levels. // 05.03.2021 - InfoMarket.
