
In the first quarter of 2025, large taxpayers in the HoReCa sector paid 176 million lei in taxes, which is 20% more than in the same period last year.
Such data were presented by the State Tax Service during a meeting of the institution's management with economic agents from the HoReCa sector with the status of large taxpayers. Among them were 3 companies from the hotel business and 14 from the catering sector. Deputy Director of the STS Petru Griciuc noted that the purpose of the meeting was to understand the realities and problems in the HoReCa sector, support dialogue and open and constructive cooperation. He presented the measures that the STS is taking to educate and prepare taxpayers for the voluntary fulfillment of tax obligations. He recalled that the STS also uses compulsory compliance tools: operational control, creation of tax posts and other tools where necessary.
