The Moldovan Cabinet of Ministers amended a number of decisions related to the tax and customs sector in order to harmonize them with the updated provisions of the Tax Code and Customs Code

According to the Ministry of Finance, in particular, these amendments were necessary to strengthen the legislative framework, reduce the administrative burden and respond to taxpayers' requests. In particular, the changes approved by the government are aimed at a number of adjustments to optimize and modernize tax and customs processes. Among the main new measures approved, the Finance Ministry names: abolition of the standardized regime for some primary documents, such as documents for the purchase of goods and rental services, in order to simplify the administrative process; optimization of the process of using excise stamps and their application according to new standards; automation of the cancellation of overpayments for amounts less than 1000 lei, whose statute of limitation has expired; expansion of the range of deductible expenses for individuals and exemption from tax of income derived from interest or increase in capital.
