Taxpayers will submit reports on local levies semi-annually instead of quarterly, as it occurs now
Director of the State Tax Service (STS), Olga Golban, announced this at the TAXCON conference while speaking in a panel on tax administration and accounting. She reported on the simplification of business activities, namely debureaucratization of some primary documents of economic and accounting activities and optimization of certain types of tax reporting. “Next year, we will undertake simplifications in the part related to small businesses, in particular, the matter concerns individual enterprises, for which the criteria on the basis of which they can submit a single declaration have already been revised,” said Olga Golban. Also, she said, in order to simplify reporting, it is planned to submit reports on local fees to the tax authorities twice a year, rather than quarterly. According to the STS, the head of the institution noted the digitalization of tax services and the possibility for taxpayers to get a broader detail of their tax situation online. During the event, the results of the implementation of the information system “Electronic Sales Monitoring” were also analyzed. Since its launch and up to now more than 24.2 thousand economic agents have registered 47.1 thousand units of cash register equipment. They have issued more than 2.1 billion cash receipts worth 550.6 billion lei, including VAT of 74.16 billion lei. Olga Golban specified that the target categories of taxpayers and the rational term for their connection to this system have been determined. The head of the State Tax Service also touched upon the transfer pricing issues. According to her, the tax authority has tried to clarify the operations, which should be reported to the STS. “The application of sanctions was postponed, which provided a transitional period during which we can learn together how to apply this principle correctly and respect the rules that are already widely used internationally. Also, we introduced into the legislation aspects related to the introduction of the agreement on preliminary price”, said Olga Golban, emphasizing that the implementation of this instrument will be for the benefit of the economic agent. The conference also discussed other issues related to voluntary compliance with tax legislation, VAT refund, development of the State Tax Service, etc. // 19.09.2024 - InfoMarket.
